Abstract
Pulse Oximeter is a tool for measuring oxygen saturation (SpO2) from hemoglobin using a non-invasive method. This tool can also measure the heart rate (heartrate). Oximeters are used by placing fingertips on sensors that consist of red and infrared leads. This study was conducted to monitor the condition of the patient from a distance without having to meet face to face by implementing Fuzzy Kohonen Network. Fuzzy Kohonen Network method is used as an algorithm to monitor patient condition with two parameters of Pulse Oximeter as oxygen saturation detector (SpO2) and heartbeat sensor as heart rate detector (BPM). Scenario used in this research is to test for normal, sick and critical category condition. For testing conditions of the normal category the output of the output will only appear on the serial monitor or Short Message Service (SMS) not sent, while for the category of pain and critical results of the output will be sent via GSM module in the form of Short Message Service (SMS) and can also seen on serial monitor. This research also measured instrument accuracy between Pulse Oximeter and Fingertip Pulse with average value for oxygen saturation (SpO2) of 97.73% and 99.2% for heart rate (BPM).
