Abstract
The purpose of this study was to describe the values of fictional characters in the books of the 4th grade Elementary School Students' Regional Themes Where I Live. The type of research used is qualitative research with descriptive method. The data collection technique used is documentation. The data in this study were 18 character values. The source of the data in this study is a fictional story contained in the student's book, The Regional Theme Where I Live, Class IV Elementary School. The results of this study are the number of character values that appear in 18 fictional stories from the My Home Area. Character values that do not appear are Tolerance, Discipline, Love of the Motherland, Love of Reading, and Responsibility with a percentage of 0 very poor information. Then the character values that appear 1 are Independent, Democratic, and National Spirit with a percentage of 5.5% very less information. Character values that appear 2 are Religious, Curiosity, Appreciating Achievement, and caring for the environment with a percentage of 11.1% very poor information. The character value that appears 5 is Friendly/Communicative with a percentage of 27.7% less information. The character value appears 6, namely Social Care with a percentage of 33.3% less information. The character value that appears 7 is Creative with a percentage of 38.8% lacking information. The character value that appears the most is 9, namely Hard Work with a percentage of 50% sufficient information. For character values that have not appeared, the teacher is expected to provide habituation examples of good behavior in the environment. Keywords: Character Values, Fiction Stories, Student Books
