Abstract

Common gastric diseases are ulcers (gastritis), dyspepsia, GERD, stomach cancer, and peptic ulcers. Based on WHO data from the 8 countries surveyed, Indonesia is ranked 4th with a percentage of 40.85% for the incidence rate of stomach disease. The high incidence of gastric disease has resulted in an overcrowding of patients and a limited number of doctors to treat them. This research was developed to produce software that can assist doctors in providing diagnoses to patients by applying case based reasoning to diagnoses of gastric disease. The diagnosis process is in carried out by entering the symptoms felt by the patient. The method used to calculate the similarity between old and new cases in the system is the k-nearest neighbor algorithm. The output of the case based reasoning system is in form of diagnostic results and treatment solutions. Based on the test results, the similarity of the system diagnoses with experts is 80%. The existence of an error in the results of this diagnosis is due to the selection of symptom factors that are very influential in getting the appropriate diagnosis results.
