Abstract

This study aims to describe the Social Problems in the song lyrics of Figura Renata's album Self-Titled and to find out the implications of this research for learning literature in schools. The approach used in this study is the Sociology of Literature approach. This research method uses descriptive qualitative song lyrics of the album Self-Titled by Figura Renata as the research object. Data collection techniques in this study used content analysis techniques or content analysis. The results of the analysis of the data obtained were 12 fragments of the lyrics of the album Self-Titled by Figura Renata covering 5 types of social criticism. Of the 12 data, there are 3 data for criticism of poverty, 2 data for criticism of crime, 4 data for criticism of the younger generation, 2 data for criticism of the environment, and 1 data for criticism of bureaucracy. This research has implications for learning Indonesian in high school in Basic Competency (KD) 3.16 Class X on Poetry.
