Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the digestibility of silage by the addition of sugar cane tops-4 Effective microorganisms (EM-4) in In Vitro. The research was conducted in August through September 2011 in the Laboratory and Nutrition Faculty of Agriculture, University of Srivijaya. This research used Completely Random ized Design (CRD) consisting of 5 (five) treatment and 3 (three) replications. The treatments used are: Pecuk cane without treatment (TO), sugarcane tops EM-4 plus 4% by weight of the sample (Tl), sugarcane tops EM-4 plus 6% by weight of the sample (T2), sugarcane shoots EM-4 plus 8% by weight sample (T3), sugarcane shoots plus EM-4 10% by weight of the sample (T4). The results of this study indicate that the addition of Effective Microrganisme-4 (EM-4) on sugarcane tops silage can increase the digestibility coefficients of dry matter (KCBK) and organic matter digestibility coefficients (KCBO) and seen the declining trend rumen NH3-N concentration.
