Abstract

The design used the Completely Randomized Design (CRJD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments were without sludge palm oil (control), 10 %, 20% and 30 % used sludge palm oil. The parameters observed gas production, microbial populations such as cellulolytic bacteria, amilolytic, proteolytic and methanogenesis, degredation of dry matter (BKT) and organic matter (BOT), VFA (Volatile Fatty Acids), methane gas and methane estimation gas. Observation of the total gas production was no significant difference (p > 0.05) and decrcascd gas production, gas production in the control produccd 56 ml /h and after addition of sludge palm oil. It could decrease until 48-53 ml on treatment, while the gas production/BKT ( ml/mg BKT) affected the results significantly (p <0.05) and gas production/BOT (ml /mgBOT) was not significantly difference (p> 0.05). The result of microbial populations were not significantly difference (p> 0.05), between proteolytic bacteria, cellulolytic, amilolitik and methanogenesis bacterial. Dry matter and organic degredation (BKT and BOT) were significantly defference (p < 0.05) and further test results were also significantly difference (p < 0.05). VFA (Volatile Fatty matter ii Acids) that was produced can decrease the production of acetic acid as a source of methane gas production. Methane gas decreased when compared with control. i f methane gas in control 30.005 mmol after the addition of suldge palm oil could decrease until 24-28 mmol, the decline affected the estimated value of methane gas. Its meant that the addition of sludge palm oil could decrease the production of gas from 56 ml to 48-53 ml on treatments. The addition that was also able increased the degredation of dry matter and organic matter, whereas the microbial population did not change the real.
