Abstract
This study aims to study the effect of corn proportions of dried grains with solubles (DDGS) in rations on partial SCFA concentrations and acetate ratios: in vitro propionate. This research was conducted in September 2018 at the Animal Science and Nutrition Laboratory of Animal Science Study Program, Department of Animal Science Technology and Industiy, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. Data were analyzed by using a Randomized Complete Design statistical model with 3 treatments and 5 replications. Which consists of P0 = Elephant Grass 60% + Concentrate 40% (Control). P1 = Elephant Grass 60% + Concentrate 20% + DDGS 20%, P2 Elephant Grass 40% + Concentrate 20% + DDGS 40%. The observed variables included the concentration of partial SCFA, acetate, propionate, butyrate, and A: P (acetate: propionate). The results of this study indicate that the value of SCFA concentration, Acetic Acid is significantly different (P <0.05), Propionate Acid is significantly different (P <0.05), Butiric Acid is significantly different (P <0.05) and Acetate Ratio: Different Propionate real (P <0.05). Treatment The composition of corn DDGS combined with Elephant Grass and Commercial Concentrate in ratio A: P is 1.05 mM low and is capable of potentially producing energy (ATP) which is good for livestock and can reduce methane (loss energy) in livestock
