Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to (1) describe the results of the analysis of the needs of students and teachers of class VIII SMP Negeri 5 Palembang on learning videos using Sparkol Videoscribe for news text writing materials, (2) describe the results of the design and produce learning videos on news text writing materials using Sparkol Videoscribe , (3) describing the results of expert validation of learning videos using Sparkol Videoscribe, (4) knowing the effectiveness of learning videos using Sparkol Videoscribe on news text writing material for class VIII SMP Negeri 5 Palembang. The type of research conducted is research with research and development methods (Research and Development). The model used in this research is the ADDIE development model, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data collection techniques used in this study were interviews, questionnaires, expert validation test results, and the results of the effectiveness test assessment. This learning video using Sparkol Videoscribe was developed based on the results of a needs analysis. The expert validation assessment consists of several aspects including media aspects, material aspects and language aspects. The validation results from the media aspect obtained a total value of 81 and converted to 95.2%, the material aspect obtained a total value of 62 and converted to 88.5%, and the language aspect obtained a total value of 31 and converted to 77.5%. Based on the results of the effectiveness test, the pretest score obtained an average of 52.6 while the average posttest score obtained 87 so that the N-Gain value obtained 0.72% with a percentage of 72%. Thus it can be concluded that learning videos using Sparkol Videoscribe on news text writing material are effective and appropriate for use in learning activities.
