Abstract
ABSTRAK This study explains media inclusivity in reporting about athletes with disabilities in the 2022 Asean Para Games. Researchers found that issues of persons with disabilities are rarely raised. This study uses the concept of an inclusive media index to see how the top 5 news portals report on Asean athletes for the games, the 5 news portals are: Kompas.com, Detik.com, Sindonews.com, Idntimes.com and Kumparan. com. The data obtained were analyzed using quantitative content analysis methods. The results of this study show that the news regarding athletes with disabilities in the 2022 Asean Games from the 5 news portals is quite inclusive and with a large amount of homework that needs to be addressed all media regarding disabilities as the main informants and the views or assessments of non-marginal groups in the content of the news. The reporting pattern of the 5 news portals tends to be monotonous reporting on standard journalism standards such as including sources, balanced news and ethical assessment of reporting issues but is weak in the aspect of media affirmation by not strengthening marginal groups, in this case athletes with disabilities. Kumparan.com takes the first position as an inclusive media portal, Detik.com takes the second position, Kompas.com takes the third position, Sindonews.com occupies the fourth position, and Idntimes.com occupies the fifth position. Idntimes as the media with the most improvements in elevating disability issues. Keywords: Inclusiveness, Athletes with Disabilities, Persons with Disabilities, Online, Asean Para Games
