Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of the application of the HOTS learning approach on the learning outcomes of class XI students in PPKn subjects at UPT SMK Negeri 8 Ogan Ilir. This study uses a quantitative approach with experimental methods. The sampling used purposive sampling technique with a sample of 21 students in the experimental class. Data collection techniques used are test and documentation techniques. From the results of this study, it was found that in inferential statistics using the t-test formula while the results of hypothesis testing showed that the value of tcount = 7.255 with df of 21-1 = 20 at a significance level of 0.05, it was obtained ttable = 1.7247 so that tcount> ttable. it is concluded that H0 is rejected, H1 is accepted, which means that the implementation of learning based on the HOTS approach has an effect on learning outcomes for class XI students at UPT SMK Negeri 8 Ogan Ilir. keywords: Implementation, Learning Approach, HOTS, PPKn, Learning Outcomes.
