Abstract

A composite material is a material consisting of two or more material components, to produce new properties that are better than the previous material. The composite materials used in this study are WR200 Fiberglass, and Resin Matrix Alloy with Carbon. The composite material that will be used in this study is oriented towards a mixture of resin matrix, namely a mixture of resin with coconut charcoal carbon, bamboo charcoal carbon, and teak wood charcoal carbon. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the difference between the alloy of the resin matrix with natural carbon on the tensile strength of the WR200 fiberglass-reinforced composite material. The type of research used is experimental research. The test specimen is rectangular in shape with a size of 175mm x 25mm with a thickness of 3 mm. The specimens were combined with natural carbon figng guava carbon, bamboo charcoal carbon, and teak wood charcoal carbon which was then tensile tested with a load of 3000 kgf. The highest tensile test result was achieved by guava charcoal carbon with a tensile strength value of 25.37 KgF/mm2. So it can be concluded that the alloy of the resin matrix with carbon affects the tensile strength of fiberglass-reinforced composite material wr 200.
