Abstract
This study aims to analyze the effect of organizational restructuring on job satisfaction and employee performance of the Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning of the Selayar Islands Regency Government. This research is quantitative research. The sampling technique in this study used total sampling, the entire population was sampled with a total of 170 people.Statistical tool used in this research is the Structural Equation Modelling Partial Least Square (PLS-SEM). The results showed that organizational restructuring had a significant effect on employee job satisfaction at the Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning of the Selayar Islands Regency Government by 68.4%. The organizational restructuring also has a significant effect on the performance of employees at the Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning of the Selayar Islands Regency Government by 20.5%. However, the effect of organizational restructuring on employee performance will be better when together with job satisfaction. Job satisfaction mediates organizational restructuring on performance by 42.6%. This study confirms that better organizational restructuring automatically boosts employee performance. However, it should be noted that job satisfaction is a predictor that leads to better employee performance. The higher the level of job satisfaction, the better the performance shown by employees.This research examines the human and technological aspects that play a role in organizational restructuring, whereas previous studies only examined it from a structural perspective.
