Abstract
Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is a part of pattern recognition where text and characters in the image are recognized, segmented, and converted into editable text. The use of OCR can also be used to provide information to users who are generally on character recognition, reading vehicle police numbers, and language translators. In this research the utilization of OCR will be used to identify the chemical element and link it to the search engine so that users get information based on the identification result. In order to obtain identification results, matching correlation template techniques are used. For additional information, augmented reality features are used to provide users with information to let users know the results of identification. This research will measure the level of precision, recall, and accuracy to find out how well the system is made. Based on the results of the research, the system created can identify characters with the highest percentage accuracy rate of 96%.
