Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan saintifik dengan model discovery learning terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik kelas X IPS pada mata pelajaran ekonomi di SMA Negeri 5 Palembang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan jenis penelitian pre-experimental design dan dengan bentuk one group pre-test – post-test design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas X IPS di SMA Negeri 5 Palembang. Sampel penelitian ini menggunakan teknik sampel jenuh, sehingga terpilih kelas X IPS sebagai kelas eksperimen yang berjumlah 25 peserta didik. Teknik pengumupulan data yang digunakan yaitu tes dan observasi. Hipotesis menggunakan statistik parametris yaitu t-test, sehingga hasil penelitian diperoleh nilai thitung sebesar 20,17 di mana thitung > ttabel = 20,17 > 1,68 maka hipotesis H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Hal ini menunjukkan adanya pengaruh pendekatan saintifik dengan model discovery learning terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik kelas X IPS pada mata pelajaran ekonomi di SMA Negeri 5 Palembang. Disarankan guru yang akan menggunakan pendekatan saintifik dengan model discovery learning agar dapat mendampingi peserta didik dalam melakukan pemeriksaan secara cermat. Guru juga harus memberikan kesempatan pada peserta didik untuk menemukan suatu konsep, teori, dan pemahaman melalui contoh yang mereka jumpai dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.
