Abstract

Kumpai tembaga grass (Hymenachne acutigluma) is one of fodder found in swamp areas with abundant production and has never been used optimally as animal feed. This research studied the quality of dry matter digestibility (DMD), crude fiber (CF), extract ether (EE), crude protein (CP), NDF and ADF of kumpai tembaga as basal rations with a combination of cassava leaves and solid decanter as well as enriched with yeast on in vivo experimental. This research was held on June to September 2018 in experimental farm and Nutrition Laboratory of animal science departmen, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The T- test with 2 treatments of R0 (85% kumpai tembaga + 15% concentrate) and R1 (55% grass found + 15% hay cassava leaves + 15% solid + 15% concentrate +. 5 g yeast) with 3 replications were applied on to this experiment. The observed parameters were the nutrition quality of ration (DMD, CF, EE, CP, NDF, and ADF). The results showed that treatment R1 involved significantly (P <0.05) on the quality of dry matter digestibility value of 64.49%, crude protein by 74.09%, extract ether 68.62%, crude fiber by 63.27%, Neutral Detergent Fiber (NDF) of 66.68%, and Acid Detergent Fiber (ADF) of 65.56%.
