Abstract

This research is a quantitative descriptive research that aims to describe the ability of students to solve the problem of the cube and cuboid in learning based on modelling. The subjects of the research 30 students in class VIII 5 at SMP Negeri 1 Indralaya. The learning process used was based on modelling In collecting the data, test consisting of 3 questions was used to see the student ability to solve the word problems. The result of this study showed that the ability of students to solve the problem of the cube and cuboid in learning based on modelling in class VIII 5 SMP Negeri 1 Indralaya is good category. Furthemore, some indicators show the result of the students performance, such as comprehending was 4,0, planning was 2,3, getting the plane done was 2,2, and reviewing 1,5.
