Abstract

This study aims to measure the level of technical efficiency and determine the effect of input variables consisting of assets, claims payments and operating expenses on operating income in the general sharia insurance industry. The type of data used is secondary data related to the general sharia insurance industry for the period 2012 to 2021. The samples used in this study were 7 companies in the general sharia insurance industry which had complete annual financial reports for the study period. The research method used is the Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA) approach using the production function. The results of the study show that the general sharia insurance industry in Indonesia for the period 2012 to 2021 is not technically efficient with an average score of 7.3. Asset variables, claim payments and operating expenses have a significant positive effect on operating income generated by companies in the general sharia insurance industry in Indonesia.
