Abstract

Turbinaria type of seaweed is used in the fields of medicine, microbiology, enzymology, and ecotoxicology such as antioxidants. T. decurrens and T. ornata Seaweeds is capable to live in tropical and subtropical areas and are found in intertidal and subtidal waters. The purpose of this research is to analyze and calculate how much antioxidant content, phenolic compounds and phytochemicals contained in T. decurrens and T. ornata seaweeds in the waters of Pahawang Island, South Lampung. This research was conducted in June 2022. The extraction method uses one solvent, namely methanol by maceration 2x24 hours. Antioskidan analysis used the DPPH method where extracts of T. decurrens and T. ornata seaweed samples in methanol solvent had antioxidants which were included in the moderate category with IC50 values of T. decurrens of 116 ppm and T. ornata of 113 ppm. After testing the phenol content and phytochemical tests, phenol and phytochemical compounds were obtained, but there were no saponins in T. decurrens and T.ornata seaweed
