Abstract

This research is entitled "Survival Strategies of Conventional Traders amid the Development of E-commerce in Candimas Market Traders". This study aims to analyze and find out the survival strategies of conventional traders amid the development of E-commerce in Candimas market traders, South Abung District, North Lampung Regency. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, interviews, and documentation. The informants in this study amounted to 8 people consisting of 7 main informants and 1 supporting informant. The research used the analytical tool of the concept of survival strategy proposed by Suharto (2009). The results of this study indicate that Candimas market traders, South Abung District, North Lampung Regency have active strategies, namely innovating business premises, following the latest model trends, increasing the work ethic of traders, and employing family members. Passive strategies are saving production expenses, and saving retribution expenses. Network strategies are social networks, and trust.
