Abstract

Research on the effectiveness of adding β-carotene sources of red dragon fruit peel extract, mango peel, turmeric and mangosteen peel to artificial feed on increasing the brightness of the color of Clown Fish (Amphiprion percula) at the Lampung Marine Aquaculture Center. The experimental design used a completely randomized design (CRD) using 15 container boxes with a stocking of 20 fish with an initial weight of 0,29-0,46 grams and an initial length of ± 2 cm. The research was carried out with 5 treatments with 3 repetitions, namely (a) pellets (control), (b) pellets + red dragon skin extract, (c) pellets + mango skin extract, (d) pellets + turmeric extract, and (e) pellets + mangosteen skin extract. The results showed the highest color brightness level of Clown Fish in the pellet + mangosteen peel extract treatment, which was 16,77. Meanwhile, growth did not show any significant differences between treatments. The survival rate ranging from 97%-100% is still considered good for the maintenance of clown fish.
