Abstract

Discipline is an important factor in the organization to enforce regulations in creating order in agencies. With the existence of work discipline it will improve the quality of human resources and goals will be more easily achieved. In addition, to find out whether the role of the leader as a whole has been carried out properly or not. This study aims to determine work discipline in improving employee performance and identify the factors that influence employee work discipline in the organization. Informants in this study amounted to seven people. This study used a qualitative method by obtaining data from interviews, observation and direct documentation in the field. The results of the analysis of work discipline analysis in improving employee performance at the Housing and Settlement Area Office of South Sumatra Province concluded that it had not been carried out properly as can be seen from the indicators of work discipline including (1) Employee punctuality had not been carried out properly and had to be improved, (2) Use of tools the office is good enough to be used by employees according to its function to support employee performance, (3) the responsibility of employees towards work is good enough in accordance with applicable regulations, (4) obedience to office rules is not optimal because there are still some employees who often violate the clock rules Work. Factors that influence work discipline in improving employee performance at the Housing and Settlement Area Office of South Sumatra Province include goals and abilities, exemplary leaders, remuneration/salary, fairness, discretion, sanctions, firmness and human relations.
