Abstract

This study aims to determine the negative impact of using gadgets on children aged (3-4) years in Talang Village, North Java, Lahat Regency. This type of research is qualitative. The subjects of this study were two children aged (3-4) years and two parents who had children aged (3-4) years. data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observation and documentation. Playing gadgets is an activity that doesn't involve too much physical activity for fun. The devices are sophisticated, attractive and intelligently designed, so playing with them is one of the most enjoyable play activities for today's kids. Gadgets have positive effects if used correctly and negative effects if used incorrectly. The results of the study stated that Using gadgets will greatly affect children's development, the negative impact of the gadget itself on children is having an imitative attitude and an attitude of not caring about the family and having physical violence behavior such as kicking and crying (tantrums). Children's ability to work together is said to be good with education from parents to children. as a parent, you must limit the time your child uses the gadget, so that the child's development goes as it should, so that the positive impact of using the gadget can be obtained, and can minimize the dangers that can be caused by using the gadget.
