Abstract

Parking problems are a crucial problem in this modern era. A large number of people who use private vehicles has resulted in increasing public demand for parking, especially in shopping centers such as, malls. The limitations of getting information on the availability of parking spaces have resulted in motorists having difficulty in finding the location of a vailable parking lots. The main solution for this problem is to design and create a prototype of a more modern parking system (system automation) that can display information on the availability of parking locations and its location. So, it can help people who use a motorcycle to find empty parking spaces. In this study, testing for software and hardware was carried out. The software for testing was used in the Arduino program to be able to run the components used. While the hardware testing performed the performance of ultrasonic sensors and infrared sensors were using Arduino Mega 2560 as a data input processor from the sensor. The results of testing ultrasonic sensors, infrared sensors and test systems made went well, and all the functions expected to run should. Wherefrom the ultrasonic sensor test the distance that can be detected by the ultrasonic sensor ≤1 cm can be opened. Whereas for the infrared sensor test it was found to be able to read a maximum distance of 10 cm. With the scale used prototype 1: 50 for the actual parking area. The distance is set according to the state of the parking lot prototype made.
