Abstract

Bar-Chart and S-Curve are the scheduling methods generally used by construction projects in Indonesia, use for typical construction, but it’s not being able to facilitate uninterrupted resources (labor) from one unit to the next and disruption what happens difficult to correct. Line of Balance is a scheduling method used for typical construction because it’s able to facilitate uninterrupted resources (labor) from one unit to the next, disturbances that occur easily corrected, and pauses in duration during the labor can be used to do work. This study aims to calculate the duration and cost using the Line of Balance scheduling method then compare with duration and cost of the S-Curve scheduling method. The National Road Widening Project in Martapura City, East Ogan Komering Ulu Regency is able to apply the Line of Balance scheduling method because it’s a typical construction project. Secondary data used for research in the form of S-Curve plan, duration of work, labors, hours worked, work days, time buffer project, and project RAB. Calculation of duration using Microsoft Excel 2016 software and drawing a line diagram using AutoCAD 2014 software. The duration after using the Line of Balance scheduling method is 180 days. This duration is same as the plan duration of the S-Curve scheduling method. This’s because there are limitations in this study, namely the amount of labor used is equal to the labors planning the S-Curve scheduling method. Because the duration and labors are the same as the S-Curve scheduling method, the fixed cost is Rp9,784,900,000.00.
