Abstract

Efforts to conserve and rehabilitated the degraded protection forest for mitigating the emission face the problem how to fulfill the people income. Many people around teh pretection forest have already run managing some crops like coffe, cacao and pepper. Allowing people for cultivating it will cause the decreasing of people income. The goverment should give the solution how people whole live the protection forest can create the income while conserves it. Research was carried out in Kecamatan Dempo Utara Pagaralam in Pagaraalam Municipal South Sumatra Province shown that the crop combination coffee and cacao resulted farmer income was bigger than combination between coffee and pepper. Based on calculating, coffee sequester and enhance carbon was bigger than cacao and pepper. The combination crop between coffee and cacao could be recommended as multiple purpose tree system (MPTS) for conserving protention forest stimultaneously getting the people income. keywords: Crop system, people income, carbon enhancement
