Abstract
Betok fish or Climbing Perch (Anabas testudineus) is one of local fish which live in flood plain or swamp area and has high economic value. Before cultivate this fish, need to know the ecology and their reproduction aspects. Kelekar river classified as about acid waters (pH 5.5-6.8) and poor oxygen (2.8-3.2mg/l). 50 betok samples; 35 males with gonad weight 0.03-0.15 gram (right length 0.1-2.7 cm) and 0.3-3 cm (left) while 15 females have 0.07-0.19 gram with length 0.1-2.5 cm (right) and 0.9-3.5 cm (left). Generally gonad stage was development phase until pregnant. The assumptions, betok fish have various gonad maturity and spawning more than once.
