Abstract
THE CRITICAL LAND IN INDONESIA TILL 2008 WAS APPROXIMATELY 77,81 MILLION HECTARES, 7,04 PERCENT INSIDE OF FOREST AREA. IN SAME PERIOD, THERE WERE 227 LICENCES OF THE INDUSTRIAL PLANTATION FOREST (IPF) COMPANIES RECOVERED THIS AREA. THEIR PLANTED AREA WAS REACHING 42,93 PERCENT OF 10,04 MILLION HECTARES WORKING AREA. THE RESULT OF COP15 COPENHAGEN, EXTENDED REDD (REDUCING EMISSION FOR DEFORESTATION IN DEVELOPING COUNTRY) PROGRAM TO BE REDD+ TO INCLUDE CONSERVATION, SUSTAINABLE FOREST MANAGEMENT, AND CARBON STOCK ENHANCEMENT. DEVELOPING IPF IN THE DEGRADED PEAT LAND BESIDES FOR WOOD PRODUCTION, ALSO SUPPORTING TO ABSORB AND AVOID EMISSION OF CARBON DIOXIDE, AND IF POSSIBLE GETTING THE CARBON INCENTIVE. RESEARCH OBJECTIVES WERE: 1. EXAMINED POTENTIAL OF THE ADDITIONAL CARBON 2. ANALYZED THE CARBON PRICE RESEARCH WAS IN PT. SEBANGUN BUMI ANDALAS IPF CONCESSION HOLDERS AT TELUK PULAI, TULUNG SELAPAN SUB DISTRICT IN OGAN KOMERING ILIR REGENCY, SOUTH SUMATERA PROVINCE. THE BIOMASS WAS MEASURED USING THE DESTRUCTIVE SAMPLING. THE ADDITIONAL CARBON WAS ESTIMATED FROM: BIOMASS, BASELINE, EMISSION AND LEAKAGE. THE CARBON PRICE EXAMINED FROM THE BENEFIT OF THE ACACIA WOOD AND THE ADDITIONAL CARBON. THE RESULT SHOWED THAT THE MEAN ANNUAL INCREMENT OF ACACIA BIOMASS TOTAL WAS 33,318 TONS, AND ITS CARBON WAS 49,95 PERCENT. THE ADDITIONAL CARBON IF ACACIA DID NOT YIELD WAS 53,289 TON CO2 AND ITS PRICE WAS $US 9,103 PER TON; AND IF IT YIELDED BASED ON CARBON MOVED OUT WHEN WOOD SOLD, WAS 22,659 TONS CO2 WITH ITS PRICE WAS $US 3,228 PER TON.
