Abstract

Burai Ecotourism Village is an area that has potential natural and human resources so that it can be developed into a sustainable tourism object. The research was conducted from December 2022 to March 2023 in Burai Village, Tanjung Batu District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. The purpose of this study was to analyze the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats as well as to formulate a community-based ecotourism development strategy in Burai Tourism Village area, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. The research approach uses a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out by observation, documentation, questionnaires, and interviews with informants. Data were analyzed using the SWOT analysis method. The results of the study recommend several strategies, firstly, the attraction of marine tourism, namely the Kelekar River and the availability of good road access to ecotourism areas will be able to increase the interest of tourists to visit, secondly, community participation can attract support from stakeholders to provide training and support community economic activities, thirdly the value of the local wisdom of the community to maintain the naturalness of the ecotourism environment can attract stakeholders interest in supporting tourism infrastructure, fourth, with the potential for culture and traditional specialties that are owned and the existence of partnership agreements with stakeholders can optimize ecotourism potential.
