Abstract
One of the factors that can increase the filtration rate is the level of soil permeability. Infiltration is the process of water entering from above into the soil surface, while soil permeability is the ability of water to flow through the pores of the soil. This research was conducted in December 2022 at PT Melania Indonesia, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra. The purpose of conducting this research is to determine the value and understand the relationship between the value of infiltration rate and soil permeability in the rubber planting years of 1997, 2002, 2007, 2012 and 2017. The method used is the servei method, sampling points were taken by purposive sampling. The infiltration rate was measured using a double ring infiltrometer directly in the field and processed using the Horton method. Permeability intact soil samples were taken at a depth of 0-30 cm using a sample ring. There were results in the planting year 1997, 2002, 2007 and 2017 having an infiltration rate value in the moderate category and in the 2012 planting year it had an infiltration rate value in the rather slow category. In the planting years 1997, 2007 and 2017 the soil permeability values were in the moderate category and in the 2002 and 2012 planting years they had the soil permeability values in the rather slow category. Soil permeability with infiltration rate has a positive correlation indicating that the greater the soil permeability value, the greater the infiltration rate value.
