Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of developing the Lake Shuji tourist attraction on the welfare of the people in Lembak Village, Muara Enim Regency. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The social situation in this study is Lake Shuji as the place under study, the management of the Lake Shuji tourist attraction and the community as the actors under study, as well as the development of tourism objects and the economy as the activities under study. The informants in this study consisted of 6 main informants and 2 supporting informants who were selected using a purposive sampling technique. This study uses two indicators, namely the development of Lake Shuji tourism objects and community welfare. Data collection was carried out using documentation, interviews and observation techniques. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that the development of the Lake Shuji tourist attraction has a positive impact on the welfare of the people in Lembak Village, where welfare indicators are fulfilled in the form of the number and distribution of people's income, ease of education and good quality of health.
