Abstract

This research aims to determine and describe students' mathematical communication skills after applying proof-based learning using the APOS approach to the circle equation material. This research is a qualitative descriptive type research with 31 students in class XI MIPA 1 SMA Negeri 3 Prabumulih as subjects. The data collection technique used was a written test consisting of three questions in the form of descriptions and interviews. Based on the results of the research, it was found that students in the high category had a frequency of 3 students with a percentage of 13%, for the medium category it had a percentage of 26% with a frequency of 6 students, then for the low category it had a frequency of 14 students with a percentage of 61%. Overall it was found that the mathematical communication skills of studen1s in class XI MIPA 1 SMA Negeri 3 Prabumulih in the circle equation material were included in the low category with an average value of 47,22
