Abstract

The level of dryness of a region can be determined by calculating the dryness index to determine the dryness index value in the city of Palembang in 2015 by using the method dryness Keetch-Byram Index (KBDI). Weather parameters used are the daily maximum temperature and daily rainfall in Palembang City in 2015. Rainfall in Palembang has a two peaks of rainfall occurs in March amounted to 390.5 mm and 323.0 in December mm, while the peak of the maximum temperature occurred in September by 34.6oC and in November of 34.8oC so that rainfall and maximum temperatures have increased and decreased affecting the level of dryness. The level of drought in Palembang in 2015 where the low level to the value of index Drought KBDI is 68 which occurred in April while the extreme level is 2000 which took place in October. Overall drought rate in the city of Palembang in 2015 higher than the level of drought in 2006 to 2009. Percentage of the level of dryness in the city of Palembang in 2015 for the low rate of 21%, while 22 %, high 10%, and 47% extreme.
