Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan dan produksi jamur merang (Volvariella volvaceae) pada berbagai ketebalan media tandan kosong kelapa sawit. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Tanjung Seteko, Indralaya, Ogan Ilir pada bulan Mei sampai dengan Juli 2008. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan lima perlakuan dan tiga ulangan. Perlakuan tersebut adalah media jerami padi (Mo), media TKKS dengan ketebalan 20 cm (Mi), media TKKS dengan ketebalan 25 cm (M3), media TKKS dengan ketebalan 30 cm (M3), media TKKS dengan ketebalan 35 cm (M4). Peubah yang diamati adalah pertumbuhan fase jarum (hari), umur panen (hari), berat tubuh buah (g), jumlah tubuh buah (buah), dan lama panen (kali). Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan pertumbuhan dan produksi jamur merang pada media jerami padi (M0) memberikan pertumbuhan dan produksi jamur merang terbaik.
