Abstract

This sludy examinales lhe "Reciprocily in lhe /radii ion of lelang ayam /embak in Sumber Mulia village, Lubai Ulu Muara Enim district". The purpose of I his research is to know 1he reciprocily that existed in /he tradilion of lelang ayam /embak in sumber mulia village. The method used in this research is descriplive qua/ii alive research method, while /he number of informan/s in this study as many 14 informanls. Technique of dala co/lee/ion is done by the observation, inlerview, and documenlarion. This study use the reciprocily theory of Sahl ins and the rheory of reciprocity value of Malm, and comrades. The result of /he study foud that reciprocily in lradition of lelang ayam tembak included mutual relalionship among re/alive, neighbors, and friends. Reciprocal of relallonship is inseparable from the process of execuation I radii ion of le/ang ayam tembak /hat slarl from the stage of implemenlalion and lhe slage after implementalion. Then the lype of reciprocily in lhe tradilion of lelang ayam tembak auc/ion is generali::ed and balanced. This generali::ed reciprocily is found in the inleralationship between family. Where as reciprocity is balanced to the mu/ual relalionship between neighbors and 11111/ua/ relalionship amongfriends. The next, lhe reciprocily value conlained in the auc/ion tradilion of /elang ayam lembak is a symbolic values.
