Abstract

Socio-economic change is a process of change that occurs in society that involves social and economic aspects. This thesis analyzes the socio-economic changes in Zone H canteen traders during the online lecture policy at Sriwijaya University Indralaya. The purpose of this study is to describe the socio-economic changes in Zone H canteen traders during the online lecture policy at Sriwijaya Indralaya University using Himes and Moore's concept. This study uses qualitative methods using descriptive research types. Data collection was carried out in research obtained through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that there are socio-economic changes experienced by Zone H canteen traders during the online lecture policy at Sriwijaya University Indralaya. There are three dimensions in the socio-economic changes experienced by traders, namely the structural dimension includes changes in livelihoods, changes in the roles of family members, changes in economic conditions. Changes in the cultural dimension include changes in daily activities, changes in regulations, innovation and creative ideas of traders. Whereas, changes in the interactional dimension include changes in the patterns of interaction and communication between traders. As for the efforts made by traders in dealing with socio-economic changes were continuing to sell as usual, adding new menus, selling in front of the house, taking orders online, and reducing spending.
