Abstract

Indonesia sebagai negara yang berada di wilayah tropis termasuk negara yang mempunyai keanekaragaman fauna yang tinggi. Salah satu taksa fauna yang sangat beraneka ragam tersebut adalah burung. Kegiatan inventarisasi untuk mengetahui kondisi dan populasi dari jenis burung yang ada di kawasan izin usaha pemanfaatan dan penyerapan karbon PT. Global Alam Lestari perlu dilakukan agar dapat dikelola untuk menunjukkan kualitas hutan, kepentingan ilmu pengetahuan dan kelestarian pemanfaatan burung. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendata jenis burung yang terdapat di kawasan PT. Global Alam Lestari, Musi Banyuasin, Sumatera Selatan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan berupa metode deskriptif kuantitatif yaitu deskripsi berdasarkan data yang didapatkan dari hasil analisis indeks kelimpahan. Penentuan jalur pengamatan menggunakan metode IPA (Indices Ponctuels Abudance) atau titik hitung (point count). Burung yang telah ditemukan dicatat pada lembar tally sheet. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian di Kawasan Hutan PT Global Alam Lestari didapatkan 53 spesies dengan jumlah individu teramati sebanyak 504 burung. Perbandingan data burung tahun 2011 dengan data yang didapatkan dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya penambahan spesies baru meliputi Ictinaetus malayensis (elang hitam), Anthreptes singalensis (madu belukar), Dnipium javanense (pelatuk besi), Reinwardtipicus validus (pelatuk kundang), dan Otus sunia (celepuk asia).
