Abstract
An island at the tributary of river affects the flow of the river itself. This causes the geometric shape of the river to change. This river geometry changes include changes in depth and width of the river which also affects the variation in flow velocity streamflow. An island can also divide the river flow into two channels. TW.% \s the background of the research on the influence of the existence of Kemaro Island against Musi River flow characteristics. By using data obtained from the fleld, it could be determined that the Musi River flow around the Kemaro Island were classified as Subcritical and Turbulent flow. The largest percentage difference in flow diseharge around the Kemaro Island was at cross seetion 5 with flowrate of 2556,466 m /s with a percentage difference 1% greater than flow diseharge at cross seetion A (Cross Seetion Before Island), while the lowest flowrates was at cross seetion 23 with the flowrate 37,737 mVs.
