Abstract
Acetaldehyde plant with production capacity 36.000 tons/year is planned to be built in 2023 at Bojonegara Street, Cilegon, Banten, area 4,2 Ha. Plant will be operated continuously in 24 hours/day in 300 days/year. Acetic acid and hydrogen are feeds in acetaldehyde production. Acetaldehyde production process is by acetic acid hydrogenation which is based on US Patent No. 2016/0176796 A1. Hydrogenation process uses 20% et Palladium (Pd) on iron oxide (Fe2O3) catalyst in fixed bed reactor that operates on 300oC and 16,77 atm (1,7 MPa). The organization structure is Perseroan Terbatas (PT) with Line and Staff System that is lead by Director and 130 employees. Based on economic analysis results, the plant passes the economic parameter that concludes it is worth to build; • Total Capital Investment (TCI) = US$ 23.354.466,95 • Total Production Cost (TPC) = US $ 86.640.476,96 • Total Selling (SP) = US$ 49.473.362,15 • Annual Cash Flow = US$ 28.427.624,47 • Pay Out Time = 1,07 year • Rate of Return = 83,48% • Break Even Point = 23,14% • Service Life = 11 year Keyword: Acetaldehyde, Fixed Bed Reactor, Economic Analysis
