Abstract

The aims of this research is to study how much PGPR are found in the surrounding of rhizosphere in four types of tidal overflows. This research has been conducted in Independent Integrated City (IIC) of Telang Tanjung Lago District Banyuasin Regency and in Laboratory of Chemistry, Biology, and Soil Fertility Department of Soil Science Faculty of Agriculture Sriwijaya University. This study was conducted from October 2016 to July 2017. Soil samples were taken from the field with predetermined locations in four (4) type of overflows A, B, C, and D were taken on roots of the dominant plant population with the depth of 0- 20 cm. Each location of the soil sample was taken at 3 randomly determined points of ± 1 kg for 1 point in several types, which is: Type A in north Purwosari village, Type B in Mulia Sari village, Type C in Banyu urip village, Type D in north Bangunsari village . Samples of soil were taken at 3 sample points on each type of overflow at the depth of 0-20 cm by using a plough then put them into a plastic that had been given the sample name, after that the soil sample was put into the cooler box that had been provided. The soil samples which were taken from four (4) different types of overflows had been planted with various crops such as rice, and corn, and the soil samples were taken randomly as much as three replications. The effect of soil chemical properties on microbes was analyzed by regression test and correlation closeness of soil pH, C-organic, total N, Pavailable, and K can be exchanged relationship with microbial populations. The results showed that the highest total microbial yields were at C-type of overflow where the number of microbes such as rhizobium bacteria 29.1 x 103, azotobacter 16.9 x 103, phosphate solubilizing bacterium 9.8 x 103, bacterial populations in type C tidal overflow increase if the soil chemical properties have increased. Suggestion after this research is soil pH of research field is very acid so the application of lime or fertilizer to increase soil pH is recommended that pH conditions are more optimal for bacterial growth.
