Abstract
This research aimed to exploration exopolysaccharide producer bacterium from oil palm rhizosphere and test their ability to form soil aggregates. Selection and isolation were conducted at Soil Biology Laboratory of Agriculture Faculty of Sriwijaya University. Exploration of bacteria was conducted by isolating bacteria from rhizosphere oil palm variuos ages, then the best exopolysaccharide was chosed from isolates, and then testing it in stabilizing soil aggregates. The result of research were three samples have a potention to produce exopolysaccharide (S1U1,S3U2,S4U1) marked by thick slime. Based on humage exopolisaccharide weight, isolates S4C2 from oil palm rhizosphere more than 10 age’s (S4U1) be able to produce weight best exopolysaccharide that is 44,25 g mL-1 . Soil aggregate stability (very stable) were inoculated by S4C2 isolates significantly different than the stability of soil aggregates (not steady) without inoculated bacteria
