Abstract
Dysmenorrhea is a problem that is often experienced by most adolescent girl so that it can lead to limitations in activities, absence from school, and even withdrawal from daily life. One of the factors that can influence attitudes in dealing with dysmenorrhea is by increasing knowledge. One of the efforts that can be made to increase knowledge about dysmenorrhea is to provide health education. This study uses couple card education game media in conducting health education. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of health education using couple card education game media on student’s knowledge of dysmenorrhea. This research is a pre-experimental one group pretest-post test design using the probability sampling method with stratified random sampling technique. The number of samples in this study were 54 female students who had experienced menstruation and experienced dysmenorrhea. Student’s knowledge about dysmenorrhea was measured using a knowledge questionnaire. Statistical analysis in this study used the marginal homogeneity test. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that the p value was 0.000 (α ≤ 0.05) which indicated that the media couple card education game had a significant effect on female student's knowledge of dysmenorrhea. Knowledge about dysmenorrhea is quite needed in dealing with dysmenorrhea. Couple card education game media is very effective in increasing student’s knowledge about dysmenorrhea so that the media can be used as a medium for health education
