Abstract

This study aims to determine and describe the tolerance index of Catholic youth at the Santa Maria Lahat Catholic Church. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative analysis which has one single variable. The sample in this study were 88 respondents, namely young Catholics aged 13 years-not married at the Santa Maria Lahat Catholic Church. The sample technique used is random sampling. Data collection used a questionnaire with a Likert scale and used the results of in-depth interviews with informants. The results showed that the index of tolerance for Catholic youth at the Santa Maria Lahat Catholic Church was high. Shown by the results of the t-test on the right side + t-table < t-count (+1.66 < 10.75) then the results of the one sample t-test are t-count > t-table (10,203 > 1.66). Based on the results of the informant's statement, it can be obtained that the tolerance value of Catholic youth at the Santa Maria Lahat Catholic Church is in accordance with the concept of harmony in the Joint Regulation of the Minister of Religion and the Minister of Home Affairs no. 9 of 2006/8 of 2006 ie. : The relationship between people of different religions is based on the values of tolerance, equality and cooperation.
