Abstract
This research is entitled "The Effectivity of Data Archieving in Administration SubSection of Regional People's Representative Assembly (DPRD) of South Sumatera in 2017. This research is backgrounded by the difficulty in finding the archieved data since the data are not well organized. Moreover, unorganized data have a high potential in damaging the data itself Adopting qualitative descriptive method, the study collects the data by docummentating, interviewing, and observing. The study draws on Amsyah's theory that measures the effectivity of data archieving through five aspects: data storage, data finding, data loaning, data monitoring, and data reduction. The result of this research shows that the data archieving in the Administration Sub-Section of South Sumatera DPRD in 2017 is not effective in three aspects: data finding, data loaning, and data monitoring. This study recommends the Adninistrative Sub-Section of South Sumatera DPRD to redesign the archieving room that will make the data easier to be found, prohibit eating and smoking in archieving room, and use the letters of borrowing for those who needs to borrow the data.
