Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan antara self compassion dengan self criticism pada anak sulung. Hipotesis dalam penelitian ini adalah ada hubungan antara self compassion dengan self criticism pada anak sulung. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah 155 anak sulung yang memiliki ibu dengan pola asuh otoriter di Indonesia. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling. Variabel self criticism diukur dengan menggunakan skala self criticism yang disusun oleh peneliti mengacu pada aspek dari Gilbert (2004). Pengukuran variabel self compassion, digunakan skala self compassion yang disusun oleh peneliti berdasarkan aspek dari Neff (2003). Untuk memisahkan anak sulung yang memiliki ibu dengan pola asuh otoriter digunakan skala pola asuh yang disusun oleh peneliti dengan mengacu pada dimensi dari Baumrind (2010). Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik korelasi pearson product moment. Hasil analisis korelasi menunjukkan bahw nilai signifikansi self compassion dan self criticism sebesar 0,000 (p<0,05) dengan nilai r = -0,687 yang berarti terdapat hubungan negatif yang signifikan. Dengan demikian hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini dapat diterima.
