Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji tokoh utama yang bernama Bahar Safar dalam novel Janji karya Tere Liye. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: (1) mendeskripsikan unsur intrinsik meliputi tema, alur, tokoh, latar, sudut pandang, gaya bahasa, dan amanat, (2) mendeskripsikan kepribadian tokoh utama menggunakan teori Sigmund Freud yakni id, ego, dan superego. (3) mengimplikasinya dalam pembelajaran bahasa dan sastra Indonesia. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan psikologi sastra. Data penelitian ini berupa dialog dan monolog yang bersumber dari novel Janji karya Tere Liye. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Adapun langkah-langkah dalam menganalisis data yakni mengidentifikasi data, mengklasifikasi data, dan menginterpretasi data. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 12 data yang termasuk aspek id, 21 data yang termasuk aspek ego, dan 7 data yang termasuk aspek superego. Hasil penelitian ini dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran bahasa dan sastra Indonesia di tingkat SMA (Sekolah Menengah Atas) kelas XII kurikulum 2013 yaitu pada Kompetensi Dasar (KD) 3.9 Menganalisis isi dan kebahasan novel.
