Abstract

One of the causes of the accident is the driver’s unsafe behavior. Safety education is one of strategies to change that by providing information to increase the awareness to behave safely. Therefore, the aim of this studies is to know the impact of safety education to gained more safe behavior on Transmusi bus driver of Unsri Bukit-Indralaya route. This research based on quasi experiment method with one group by pretest - postest design research plan. This study uses interventional procesures and performed pretest and posttest to get scores of the respondent’ safe behavior. The participant of this test were 30 males Transmusi bus drivers. Samples were taken by total sampling. The result data were obtained by using questionnaires safety driving when pretest and posttest. The statistic used wilcoxon test. The results of this test showed negative average (average rank) of 0.00 and average positive (average rating) of 4.50 with p-value = 0,011 <0,05. The result of this research indicated that safety education affectly to increase of safe behavior on Transmusi driver.
