Abstract
MICE industry activities in Indonesia as an industry show that MICE is a sector in the tourism business. Tourism business activities where the main goal of delegates or participants in MICE activities is to travel and attend an activity or event related to a common goal while enjoying tourism activities. The Covid 19 pandemic that is happening all over the world has an impact on business tourism/MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention and Exhibition) activities that cannot be actively carried out. This study aims to identify and analyze the concept of MICE based on Government Regulation no. 5 of 2017 in an effort to realize Indonesia as a tourist destination that is of interest to foreign tourists. The research method used is a case study of phenomena that occur to identify what are the Indonesian government's strategies for optimizing MICE, which consist of four factors, namely accessibility, attractions, amenities and the support of human resources and stakeholders. The results of the study show that Indonesia's readiness to become a tourism destination is sufficient but still lagging behind neighboring countries, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.
