Abstract

HIV is a global health challenge in both developed and developing countries. In 2021 in South Sumatra Province there are 208 cases infected with HIV and 121 cases infected with AIDS. The purpose of this study was to find out what are the risk factors for HIV-AIDS in productive age (15-64 years) in South Sumatra Province in 2022. This study used descriptive analysis in the form of an ecological study design approach, the target population in this study were all infected people. HIV-AIDS residents who live in South Sumatra Province who are recorded and reported by the South Sumatra Provincial Health Office and the source population in this study are people who have the criteria of being positively infected with HIV-AIDS with a productive age range (15-64 years) and are in the province of South Sumatra. The results showed that the risk factors for the incidence of HIV-AIDS in the productive age (15-64 years) in South Sumatra Province in 2022 with 623 new cases of HIV-AIDS were the productive age of 20-29 years, namely (51.5%) in HIV and 36% in AIDS, male sex (85.2%) in HIV and (88.6%) in AIDS, unknown occupation (40.8%) in HIV and (37%) in AIDS, method transmission through homosexual in HIV cases (56.6%) and heterasexual in AIDS cases (48.3%). The results of the buffering analysis on the number of HIV-AIDS health services that reported the highest cases of HIV-AIDS in 2022 were Palembang City (71.3%). It can be concluded that the high level of HIV-AIDS health services can affect the number of HIV/AIDS cases found in the districts / cities of South Sumatra Province in 2022.
