Abstract

Violence against children is any act of abuse against all forms of sexual such as pornography, prostitution, early marriage, and sexual exploitation. The purpose of this study was to determine the determinants of a history of sexual violence against children. This study used a descriptive research design using a qualitative approach. A qualitative approach was used in this study because it was able to provide a more in-depth picture of the background of children experiencing sexual violence.the results of this study found that perpetrators of sexual violence occurred by people around who were close enough to victims of sexual violence. Children who experience sexual violence have no history of drug and alcohol exposure. Economic factors that cause children to experience sexual violence because the child's parents work and spend longer hours working make them less likely to get supervision and help. People know that with a low educational background makes them unable to access gadgets so there is no supervision in cyberspace provided by parents. In this study, it was concluded that sexual violence against children in Ogan Ilir Regency according to all informants and key informants the contributing factor is the authority of the perpetrator of sexual violence where the perpetrator of sexual violence itself is a person known and even well known by the child, the child has full trust in the perpetrator who then uses his authority or power as a weapon to make the child feel helpless and map the conditions around the child.
