Abstract

PT. Bukit Asam, Tbk is a national scale mining company engaged in coal mining. Generally, coal undergoes various long processes and before the coal is distributed, the coal will be temporarily stacked in a place called the Stockpile. On the other hand, there are problems that occur in the stockpile, namely spontaneous combustion. Selfburning is a phenomenon that occurs when coal is stored in a stockpile for a certain period of time and is caused by various factors. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the implementation of the self-burning fire management protection system at PT. Bukit Asam Tbk. Tanjung Enim, South Sumatra. This research is a qualitative research with a descriptive approach. This research method will be carried out by in-depth interviews with as many as 8 informants and field observations will be carried out, analysis of self burning data and literature studies. Based on the research results, PT. Bukit Asam, Tbk has a Work Unit (Satker) which is responsible for dealing with self-burning, consisting of Coal Transportation Handling Satker, Environmental Monitoring Satker and Fire Accident Handling Satker. Self inflicted reporting is carried out using communication tools such as radio channels, HT, WA groups and Call Centers. PT. Bukit Asam, Tbk already has a Self Burning Procedure (TCK) and has implemented an active and passive fire management protection system in dealing with self-burning such as the implementation of the First In First Out System, using complete fire extinguishing equipment, using fire detection applications, heavy equipment and other equipment. The conclusion of this research is PT. Bukit Asam Tbk. has implemented a self-inflammation fire management protection system that complies with TCK and applicable regulations, but it is necessary to apply the latest innovative technology and develop self-inflicted prevention and handling measures so that self-infighting can be handled properly in the future
